Week 16 Challenge: Then and Now

Hi ladies-

Thanks so much for your patience in posting this challenge- my presentation is history and it went very well, which means my stress level has significantly plummeted!

This week, I'm keeping it simple for our challenge! One of my favorite types of layouts to do is one that compares the present with the past: a wedding photo of my parents next to one of our wedding, the start of a home renovation and the final product, my baby picture next to my daughter's baby picture...you get the idea. :) I think layouts like these are some of my most treasured and I hope you'll create one that you and your family will love!

No other big rules, just put your heart into it and add some journaling to tell anyone else who reads it why these photos mean so much to you.

To get back on track, layouts are due by this Sunday, May 3rd at 11:59 p.m.

April here with the Layout of the Week!  This weeks prize goes to gemamac and the beautiful page for Project 52 Week 15 entitled EYES. Love the composition here and I really enjoyed reading the journaling on this one. I had a dream that I'd have a blue eyed, blond haired baby girl too!

Project 52 – Week 15 Challenge

Hey gang! Allison (finally) here with this week’s challenge. The challenge is going to actually involve all of the members of your family this week, so hopefully, they’ll all oblige.

OK. So the details of the challenge are as follows:

1. Take a picture of the SAME body part (eyes, feet, hands, noses, smiles, etc.) on each of the members of your family INCLUDING YOURSELF and scrap them. (**If you’re single, you can use you and your friends, or you and your pets, or you and your mom, etc.).

2. Journal about that body part. Some ideas are to discuss what emotion that body part brings up in you (happiness, sadness, pride, etc.)… Or how that feature is similar in all of you… Or how that body part ties all of you together as a family somehow. Use your imagination and really try to make it meaningful.

3. Use at least one element in the top left corner of your layout.

That’s it! Scrap it and post it in the galleries! Since the site was down, I’ll extend the deadline until Wednesday, April 29th 11:59 PM EST. Don’t forget to comment here, linking us up to your layout. :)

Project 52 - Week 14 Challenge

Hello again everyone!

If you made it to the chat tonight, I'm sure you are SUPER happy to spend that gift card on some of Jen's awesome new papers.  Be sure to pick up some of those gorgeous new templates while you are at it!!

Let's get to the challenge, shall we?

This week, create a monochromatic layout.  You choose the color and you choose the topic, but it must be monochromatic and it needs to have something shiny on it. 

Do you need a topic to help you get started?  Okay!!  Then create a Things I Love About You page for someone or something in your life. 

Remember to post in the gallery by Noon EST Monday, 4/20!

Happy Easter

Just a quick note to wish you all a very Happy Easter and may you have fun doing whatever it is you do to celebrate!!  For me in about 4.5 - 5.5 hours, my two will be up searching for foil wrapped eggs hidden just about everywhere all over my home!! Unlike many of you, we have to have it indoors because outside is still a little too chilly (and mucky) for a good ole outdoor hunt!!   Regardless the E.B. has stopped by and it's always just so fun to see how excited they get!!!

Later in the day, I will host a family dinner so it'll be great to spend time together even if I do have to cook!!!

In other news, a few new things in the store  just in time for Easter plus a silly freebie. Silly but they just so happen to go with the new paper packs in the store!!

Layout of the Week!

Wow!  I was supposed to post the layout of the week yesterday, and I totally dropped the ball.  Sorry guys!  I'm feeling like a "blog hog" these days! 

Things have been a bit crazy around the shop, however the gallery is still hopping!  Check out this gorgeous layout by aggietha:

Isn't it stunning?  Everything you see except the butterfly is a brush.  Crazy!  SO cool!

Project 52 - Week 13 Challenge

It's me (Kel) again!

For this week's challenge, I want you to create a page featuring two self-portraits:  One that details how the world sees you and one that tells about how you see yourself. 

The guidelines:
Your layout does NOT have to include your picture . . . but that would be nice!
Lots of journaling is a MUST!
Include a little bit of metal.
The colors in your layout will speak to your TRUE self.  Are you calm and soothing, or a little bit wild?  SHOW us!

Layouts must be posted to the gallery no later than Monday at Noon EST!  (I'm trying to get us back on schedule!!)

And, while the store has been down for maintenance, the gallery and forums are UP!  Join us over there while we all wait anxiously for the triumphant return of our magnificent designer, Jen Wilson!!
