Hey ladies- Teresa here, coming out of hibernation for the past several weeks to post your Project 52, Week 22 challenge! Life has thrown our family few too many curveballs recently, so I haven't been able to keep up with the challenges, but I hope to get back in the game once things settle down again.
One of these curveballs is the inspiration for my challenge to you this week. On Saturday, I attended the funeral of Jay's granddad. He passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness the day after we returned from a house-hunting trip (we've moving across the U.S. at the end of the month). As hard as it was to be there with him when he passed, we were so very fortunate to be able to say our goodbyes to this incredible man. At the funeral, there was standing room only. His friends and family spoke of his life with glowing admiration- married to his love for 66 years, a Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps, a true officer and gentleman to the core. He welcomed me as his granddaughter with open arms and the photos I have of him with Ella (his only great-granddaughter) are so very precious. I greatly admire the way he lived his life, touching the lives of so many others, and always giving of himself for his family, friends and community.
So...who do you admire? Or, what qualities to you most admire? Do you live your life in a way that would make people stop and consider how they could be more like you? Do you strive to be that person? What qualities are you trying to instill in your children? Make this week's page somehow follow the theme of admiration. Maybe you have a story to pass down to your kids, totally up to you what you choose to scrap about. But, virtual bonus points if you choose a person and then are able to tell them just how much you admire their life. :)

Hey gang! It’s Allison here with Challenge #18 for Project 52.
So… have you ever been driving along in your car and a song comes on the radio that immediately transports you back to high school? Or got a whiff of something somewhere that totally reminded you of the county fairs you used to go to back when you were a kid?
Well, this week’s challenge is going to make you think about how amazing it is when that sort of thing happens.
I want you to think about the 5 senses – seeing, hearing, touching, tasting, and smelling. Now I want you to scrap one thing for each of those senses that reminds you of home.
I’m using the term “home” loosely. You can scrap about the actual home you’re in now, the town you live in (as in your hometown), the home/town where you grew up as a kid, or a place you consider “your second home”, etc. But all 5 senses must relate to the same one “home”.
So decide what concept of “home” you want to scrap and then scrap about one sight, sound, taste, smell, and touch that reminds you of that home.
THE RULES:
1. Since you can’t necessarily snap a photo of a scent, sound, smell, etc., I’m not requiring a certain number of photos. It would be cool if you COULD somehow get a photo for each one, but definitely not a requirement.
2. You must have at least 2 circle shapes on your layout. I don’t care if it’s paper circles, elements that are circular, etc., but get 2 of them on there.
3. Journal about each sense item. Although YOU may know what the photos represent, someone later on won’t. So I want you to type out what each item is and how it reminds you of “home.”
That’s it! Any questions, just drop me a line! Now go sniff things and figure out what to scrap about. ;)
Layout due: Sunday, May 17th at 11:59 PM EST. :)
"ARGH!". Something that really drives you crazy right now.
Or it could be something you said or did that was so bad you can't believe you said or did it. Whether it's just a pet peeve or something else more serious; get it out! You'll be glad you did.
Post the links to your Week 17 Challenge here in the comments. :)
Hey ladies-
There are lots of people who haven't uploaded a layout for this week...I'm worried it's because I posted late (and because of NSD yesterday). SO...let's extend the challenge for another day. Jeannie is ready with a new challenge to be posted tomorrow night.
Post this week's by tomorrow night, Monday May 4th at 11:59 EST to be considered on-time. I'm sorry to those of you who might have been stressed to post by tonight...please don't be mad at me!
See you tomorrow!
April here with the Layout of the Week! This weeks prize goes to gemamac and the beautiful page for Project 52 Week 15 entitled EYES. Love the composition here and I really enjoyed reading the journaling on this one. I had a dream that I'd have a blue eyed, blond haired baby girl too!
Hey gang! Allison (finally) here with this week’s challenge. The challenge is going to actually involve all of the members of your family this week, so hopefully, they’ll all oblige.
OK. So the details of the challenge are as follows:
1. Take a picture of the SAME body part (eyes, feet, hands, noses, smiles, etc.) on each of the members of your family INCLUDING YOURSELF and scrap them. (**If you’re single, you can use you and your friends, or you and your pets, or you and your mom, etc.).
2. Journal about that body part. Some ideas are to discuss what emotion that body part brings up in you (happiness, sadness, pride, etc.)… Or how that feature is similar in all of you… Or how that body part ties all of you together as a family somehow. Use your imagination and really try to make it meaningful.
3. Use at least one element in the top left corner of your layout.
That’s it! Scrap it and post it in the galleries! Since the site was down, I’ll extend the deadline until Wednesday, April 29th 11:59 PM EST. Don’t forget to comment here, linking us up to your layout. :)
Hello again everyone!
If you made it to the chat tonight, I'm sure you are SUPER happy to spend that gift card on some of Jen's awesome new papers. Be sure to pick up some of those gorgeous new templates while you are at it!!
Let's get to the challenge, shall we?
This week, create a monochromatic layout. You choose the color and you choose the topic, but it must be monochromatic and it needs to have something shiny on it.
Do you need a topic to help you get started? Okay!! Then create a Things I Love About You page for someone or something in your life.
Remember to post in the gallery by Noon EST Monday, 4/20!
